What is Noble Calf leather?
We imagine loafers and boots as the house where your feet live in; for this reason, selecting the best materials for our shoes is a critical part of our philosophy. Noble Calf leather is a top high quality leather, known for its softness, durability, and extremely luxurious feel.
Slowly tanned by artisanal family run tanneries, our Noble Calf leather preserves the hide and makes it suitable for use in loafers and boots; providing a timeless product that, with the right care, becomes more beautiful and comfortable.
This leather is pure aniline dyed, allowing the base colour to penetrate deeply into the fibres of the leather, and leaving the top surface uncoated, breathable and ready to be finished by the shoemaker with his choice of waxes. Finished and treated to give it an exclusive desired appearance and feel.
All our leathers are sourced from responsible and sustainable practices, and our tanning processes strictly meet social and environmental standards. Our Noble Calf leather is a sustainable choice, because it is a natural and biodegradable material; following our care advice, you may extend the lifespan of these shoes if properly cared for.
Why use Noble Calf leather?
There are several reasons why Noble Calf leather is preferred over other types of leathers. Firstly, it is particularly smooth and supple, known for its durability and resistance to wear and tear. It withstands the rigours of daily use, maintaining its quality and appearance over time.
The slightly supple finish of this leather makes it one of the finest grains to work with. This material has a very tight and resistant fibre, showing little variations across the skin, granting an exceptional tanning finish.
Because of its luxurious feel and added touch of sophistication, we have chosen Noble Calf leather for our Grand Loafers. This leather is of the highest quality, tanned in Italy by our remarkably skilled artisans who have preserved the art of leather shoe making through generations.
How do you care for Noble Calf leather?
We highly recommend following these suggestions to extend the lifespan of our Noble Calf leather shoes and boots. For instance, excessive heat, moisture, and direct sunlight should be avoided, as these can cause the leather to fade, crack, or dry out.
For a soft type of care, wipe down the leather with a soft, dry cloth to keep it clean. Harsh cleaning chemicals and abrasive materials should be avoided as they can harm the leather. If the leather becomes dirty or stained, please use a soft, damp cloth and a small amount of mild soap to gently clean it. Allow the leather to air dry after thoroughly rinsing it with soap.
You can use a leather protector or conditioner to protect the leather from spills and stains. These products repel water and oil while also keeping the leather supple.
If the leather becomes dry or stiff, a top quality leather conditioner or neutral shoe cream can be used to restore its softness and suppleness. When using conditioners or protectors, always follow the manufacturer's directions for these specific products. Allow it to dry for at least ten minutes and then gently polish with a soft clean cloth.
If the leather becomes wet, avoid using heat or harsh chemicals to dry it. Rather, blot the excess moisture away with a clean, dry cloth and let the leather dry naturally.
