What is Alligator and similar exotic leathers?

We have a unique ability to reimagine an alternative universe of luxury and timeless objects; for this reason, selecting the best materials for our shoes is a critical part of our philosophy.

One of the most popular exotic leathers we use is Alligator leather derived from Alligator skin. Alligator leather is a precious material, and often more expensive than other types of leathers, because of its specific manufacturing processes.

To captivate our most discerning audiences, we have crafted a collection of loafers with prestigious leathers from rare animals. The allure of this range lies in an exceptionally positioned alligator apron that comes in various colours.

This type of leather is well-known for its strength and distinct texture, which is distinguished by small, raised scales. Its durability and resistance to wear and tear are also quite notorious, making it a unique choice for our most luxurious loafers’ category.

Why use Alligator leather?

Our Alligator leather loafers, a craftsman’s masterpiece, are hand dyed, making each pair unique to its owner. Alligator leather is a luxurious and prestigious material known for its durability and resistance to wear and tear, making it an excellent choice for luxury loafers.

The pattern to make the alligator shoes is masterfully clicked in the most precious central part of the skins limiting splits and stitching to just the unavoidable, offering the highest level of luxury.

Furthermore, Alligator leather has a distinct texture and appearance that distinguishes it from other types of leather, adding value to a product, in this case, to our iconic sagan loafers.

Our Alligator and similar exotic leathers are of the highest quality, tanned in Italy by our remarkably skilled artisans who have preserved the art of leather shoe making through generations.

Additionally, Alligator leather is frequently used because it is a natural material that can be sourced and produced in a sustainable manner. We have developed our Alligator leather loafers with an equal focus on appearance and fit.

How do you care for Alligator leather?

These care tips will help you expand the lifespan of your luxury Alligator leather loafers.  Wipe Alligator leather clean with a damp cloth to remove dirt and dust. Soap and detergents can strip the leather of its natural oils, causing it to become dry and brittle.

Alligator leather can benefit from regular conditioning to keep it supple and prevent drying out. Follow the manufacturer's application instructions when using a leather conditioner designed specifically for Alligator leather, and always use a top quality leather conditioner.

Protect it from the elements. Alligator leather is susceptible to extreme temperatures, humidity, and direct sunlight. Keep alligator leather items away from direct sunlight in a cool, dry place. Consider using a waterproofing spray to help protect the item if you will be using it in wet or humid conditions.

Handle Alligator leather with care. Avoid exposing it to sharp objects or rough surfaces that could scratch or damage the surface. Be gentle when handling Alligator leather loafers. Keep it properly stored. When storing alligator leather shoes, stuff them with tissue paper or a soft cloth to keep their shape. Store them flat or in a box instead.
