A timeless style. Reinvented for your modern life. The most comfortable loafers you will ever own.

Unlined shoe structure.

Luxurious leathers.

Proprietary insoles.
Fully Unlined – Sagan Classic.
Our Sagan Classic is fully unlined across the whole shoe, engineered for the maximum level of flexibility and comfort achievable. No wear-in required.
Half Unlined – Sagan Grand.
Our Sagan Grand is unlined across the front of the shoe, creating a bespoke all-day fit while providing support through its unique “bridge” lining in the heel and body.
Quality in traditional craft.
Every Sagan loafer is crafted using the supplest and softest lamb suede from flocks reared on a lush, green Mediterranean island. Artisanally tanned and treated locally, this top-grain suede is then aniline-dyed and waxed on the grain side for unmatched comfort and breathability.
Made in the detail and tradition of bespoke shoemaking, we hand-last each of our loafers with care, communicating just the right amount of stretch into them for that special glove-like feeling.
Designed for contemporary comfort.
The Sagan's unlined form and proprietary cushioned breathable insoles are a result of extensive research, testing and development: a long and passionate journey undertaken to create the ultimate contemporary shoe. Our extremely comfortable luxury loafers are easy to fit and designed to perfectly accommodate both your feet and your lifestyle.
Highest quality of make & detail.

Unique shoemaking techniques.

Highest level of materials.
Classic construction - Sagan Classic.
Our Sagan Classic uses a combination of the Goodyear-welt and the cemented sole construction, to ensure maximum padding and durability for walking, while remaining ultimate flexibility in the shoe.
Blake construction - Sagan Grand.
Our Sagan Grand internally uses the Goodyear-welt construction for maximum support while walking, while the sole has been Blake-stitched to remain the elegant last-shape, durability and endless re-soling.
History of our Belgian loafers.
The first version of the Sagan, our take on the Belgian loafer, was developed for our own use in our bespoke workshop. This original denominated “w-loafer “(“workshop “ loafer) was designed to be comfortable enough to work in all day.
Ultimately during the years-long development process, the shoe developed into a state of near perfection. The Loafer was renamed the Sagan when increasingly more bespoke clients started commissioning pairs of bespoke Belgian loafers in every colour and materials for their summer holidays, formal events and home use in the winter.
At Baudoin & Lange we have expressed our creativity and utmost focus in designing and manufacturing a modern-day Belgian loafer, elevating its comfort and elegance above anything that came before. We express our deep respect and honor for the 400-year long history and craft associated with the highly-praised Belgian loafer.
Taking care of your Sagans.
All of our shoes are best taken care of when stored on our signature wooden shoe trees. However our unlined, suede Sagans are much more forgiving if a shoe tree is not available, as is the case when travelling. Unlined loafers can be folded and will immediately spring back into shape post travel, always keeping their original shape and fit.
When you decide to use shoe tree – as you always should in the case of a regular lined pair – the soft suede leather will be extremely malleable. So, if you prefer a wider fit, your Sagans can be stretched by using just a slightly bigger shoe tree.
Taking care of your suede Sagans is very simple. All you need is a stiff-bristled brush and a suede eraser (or regular eraser) for deeper stains.
Most types of everyday wear can be remedied with a stiff-bristled brush. Move the brush gently over the suede to clean (always let the shoe dry first). Any stain or dirt on the tiny suede fibers is loosened and eventually released.
Remember to brush the surface in opposite directions. Just take care to use only a slight amount of pressure.
