ASTERIA DEERSKINMaterial
Deerskin is popular not just for its very distinctive look which is grainy and wrinkly but also for its unique properties given by the particular structure of the fibres that allow it to be incredibly stretchy yet resistant. Its sponge-like structure makes it extremely breathable and the perfect choice for also the warm weather. We pride ourselves in not using hunted wild deer skins but only New Zealand deer/doe skins which are respectfully farmed for the food industry. The feature that sets apart our Asteria deerskin is that the reverse, the suede side is also finished off to be impeccable and super supple. You could actually use our Asteria deerskin on both sides: full grain or suede.
Care
After any use always allow the Sagans to dry at room temperature, away from any direct heat source. If your Sagans have got wet you may roll-up some paper and insert it inside the Sagans.
If you have dirt or mud on your Sagans, make sure they are completely dry before gently brushing it off with a soft brush or cloth.
Our Asteria deerskin does not require any particular care but if you feel you want to freshen up the look of your Sagans and take the opportunity to nourish the leather you may apply a very thin leather of a top quality neutral cream, allow to dry for at least ten minutes and then gently polish with a soft clean cloth.
Please note that any cream will tend to make the leather shinier so if you want to maintain the original matt look then just clean with a clean cloth without using any cream.

For normal maintenance we advise you apply just a very thin layer of a top quality neutral shoe cream such as Reptan from Saphir, allow to dry for at least ten minutes and then gently polish with a soft clean cloth. For colour maintenance, wax-based polish such as Saphir Medaille d’Or can be used.
